2026 August Women in Business Breakfast
Tuesday, August 18, 2026 (8:15 AM - 9:30 AM) (EDT)
Description
The pelvic floor is a group of muscles that support the bladder, bowel, and uterus and play a vital role in core stability and sexual health. During pregnancy, postpartum recovery, perimenopause, and menopause, hormonal and physical changes can place stress on these muscles. Dysfunction may present as urinary leakage, urgency, pelvic pressure, pain with intimacy, or low back discomfort, affecting daily activities, exercise, and overall quality of life. Pelvic floor physical therapy provides individualized, evidence-based care to restore strength and coordination so women can feel confident and supported at every stage of life. In this presentation, we will take a closer look at the anatomy and physiology of the pelvic floor and discuss practical, effective treatment strategies.
